Paul and Ryan go over Paul's favorite chart, which covers self-determination theory. This includes the process of shifting from relying on extrinsic motivation towards being intrinsically motivated. Without this shift it is very difficult to consistently make it to the gym over long periods of time, since external factors are outside of our control.
